Solar-Powered Refrigerated Shipping Trucks : Birds Eye shipping trucks

These Birds Eye shipping trucks have been launched through a multi-year partnership with the shipping and logistics firm DFDA and Sunswap as part of the brand’s continued shift towards reducing its carbon footprint. The shipping trucks feature solar panels on the top that will harness the power of the sun during transportation, which is converted using Sunswap’s advanced battery technology. The equipment will thus power the refrigeration system inside the truck and reportedly cut down on emissions by 24 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

General Manager of Birds Eye UK&IE Shaun Smith spoke on the new Birds Eye shipping trucks saying, “We’re delighted to be working with DFDS and Sunswap to help reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
