Mumbai: A total of 105 COVID-19 cases, including 32 in Mumbai, were recorded in Maharashtra on Wednesday, taking the overall tally to 1,064 so far, the public health department said.

Three patients have died due to COVID-19 infection since Tuesday, with Kolhapur, Navi Mumbai, and the Dombivli civic area each reporting one fatality.

The overall COVID-19 death tally in the state since January stood at 17, with 16 deceased suffering from comorbidities.

At 33, areas under the Pune municipal corporation reported the maximum number of cases on Wednesday, followed by Mumbai (32), Thane civic limits (14), Navi Mumbai (9), Satara (5), Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad four each, and one each in Thane, Nashik, and civic limits of Chatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nagpur, the department stated.

The overall tally of coronavirus cases in Mumbai since January rose to 541, including 535 cases reported in May alone.

The state public health department has tested 13,707 samples since January, of which 1,064 came positive, while 521 patients recovered.>
