Chris Eubank Jr has beaten Conor Benn by unanimous decision.
After going the full 12 rounds, all three judges unanimously gave 116-112 on the scorecards in favour of Eubank Jr.
His father, legendary boxer Chris Eubank, said after the bout that “I am so proud of my son,” and praised Benn as “extraordinary”.
Eubank Jr, 35, said: “I didn’t expect Conor to be the guy to [bring it out of me]. I didn’t know he had that in him, I thought I would break him early.
“I underestimated him, I didn’t prepare for a fight like that.”
He was the more experienced of the pair, going into the fight with a record of 34-3, with 25 KOs. Benn, 28, won all 23 of his professional fights, 14 by KO.
Benn’s father Nigel had fought with Eubank Sr twice in the 1990s, including a famous WBO middleweight championship bout at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in 1990.
Ahead of the fight, Eubank Jr was fined for being fractionally over the 160lb middleweight limit, at 160.05lbs.
