500 Global and the United Nations Development Programme announced on August 18, 2025 in Nairobi the launch of three co-designed founder programs aimed at reinforcing Africa’s innovation ecosystem. The Pre-Acceleration Academy will support earliest-stage entrepreneurs through an in-person curriculum running from October 6 to 12. The Sustainable Innovation Seed Accelerator is tailored for seed-stage startups developing environmentally focused solutions. The third program, 500 Global’s Bootcamp for Accelerator Managers, will upskill incubator and accelerator leaders under UNDP’s timbuktoo initiative to advance innovation across the continent.

The collaboration leverages UNDP’s mandate to end poverty and promote sustainable development alongside 500 Global’s expertise as a multi-stage venture capital firm with $2.1 billion in assets under management. By providing tailored mentorship, access to global networks and investment guidance, the partnership seeks to build a resilient, inclusive ecosystem that supports African founders at every stage and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Applications for all three programs are currently open via the respective program portals.
